GENERAL INFORMATION

What are the details for CoNexion 2018?

Nexion’s second conference at sea will be held on Harmony of the Seas Sept. 22– Sept. 29, 2018. The seven-night Western Caribbean cruise embarks from the Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Will CoNexion be similar to the ones on land?

Yes! We will have all of the components of CoNexion including informative and entertaining General Sessions, the supplier partner trade show and the best training you will find for all levels of experience!

Will there be pre- or post-conference opportunities?

We are not offering any pre- or post-activities, as we’ll have a full agenda during our week at sea. The exception is Nexion Canada Day (for Nexion Canada members only) which will be held Friday, Sept. 21.

I am interested in finding a roommate during CoNexion. How do I do this?

If you are interested in finding a roommate during CoNexion, we encourage you to make a posting on NexionTown in the CoNexion 2018 group.

What is the dress code for CoNexion 2018?

The dress code during CoNexion functions is resort casual; however, please remember to bring a sweater or jacket, as temperatures may vary. Of course you’ll want to bring your cruise wear for port days and enjoying time on the ship. Day 2 and Day 5 will both be formal nights (cocktail attire) aboard the Harmony of the Seas, please pack accordingly! Don’t forget to pack for our Farewell Reception theme: Purple, yellow, green and red–Wear your favorite Nexion colors from toes to head, Sept. 28.

Where can I address my ADA special requirements?

During registration, you will be asked to list any special needs. Please be specific when describing any special needs.

Is WiFi available on board Royal Caribbean cruise ships?

Yes! Voom internet is offered on all Royal Caribbean fleet ships and is 6x faster than any other internet at sea! RCCL is offering Nexion members a special pricing that is the best in the industry. For those who have not been to a travel conference at sea, paying for internet is customary and a standard business practice. For more information please visit RCCL’s Internet FAQ page here.

I went to CoNexion last year; should I go again this year?

You bet! Just as your business changes yearly, so does CoNexion in order to meet your ever-changing needs. Of course this year is the year you do NOT want to miss CoNexion, as we’ll be onboard the beautiful Harmony of the Seas. This year’s CoNexion is also bigger and better than ever and will showcase more engaging workshops, dynamic industry leaders, surprises and prizes galore!

Because CoNexion will be held on one of the industry’s newest and most beautiful cruise ships, we may be holding some of the sessions in unconventional venues! Plus, because we’ll be at sea, we’re thrilled to offer some exciting events and experiences you just can’t experience with a land-based conference!

Will my contact information or image be shared?

Our top sponsors receive an attendee list prior to CoNexion, so they can invite you to special events they may have during or around the conference. In addition, we may use video and/or photography of all CoNexion functions and attendees for marketing purposes.

Will there be a CoNexion App again this year?

The CoNexion mobile app is now available for download! Here is a reference guide on how to download the app to your phone.

What is the last day I can register for CoNexion?

What should I do if I want to book now but am not sure who I will be traveling with?

If you plan to add a second person to your stateroom but do not know who that person is when you register, you should reserve a double stateroom. If you don’t know your secondary passenger information when you register, please just register yourself and then once received, please send the secondary passenger information to conexion@nexion.com. Please note, however, that if you do not add a second person, you will be responsible for the entire stateroom double occupancy price minus one prepaid gratuity of $94.50. We have a very limited number of Single Occupancy staterooms available. Therefore, switching from a double stateroom to a single stateroom will not be possible.

Note: When booking a double occupancy stateroom, you will be required to pay the full deposit of $500 USD for two passengers.

I need to make a change to my attendee information, what do I do?

Any changes need to be submitted through the Events team by emailing conexion@nexion.com. Changes must be submitted by Aug. 1, 2018.

Royal Caribbean has the incorrect information. What do I do?

Any changes need to be submitted through the Events team by emailing conexion@nexion.com.

I need to make a payment; do I call Royal Caribbean or Nexion?

To make a payment, please email conexion@nexion.com, and the Events team will call you back within 48 hours to take that payment information. Royal Caribbean does not accept payments directly from our attendees.

When is final payment due?

Final payment is due July 13, 2018. An email with payment instructions will be sent prior to this date to all registered attendees with an outstanding balance on how to make final payment.

Can I pay by check?

No. Only credit cards are accepted through the online registration process.

Can I use multiple credit cards to make the deposit for my stateroom?

Yes! Please email us at conexion@nexion.com regarding multiple payments and credit cards with a phone number and best time that we can contact you, and we would be happy to help you. For security purposes, please do not include credit card information in your email.

Is there a payment plan?

You will make two payments per cabin. The first initial deposit via credit card will be $250 per person and $250 per person for second, third and fourth guest, followed by a final payment due July 13, 2018. Final payment includes pre-paid gratuities.

Can I book a Travel Agent reduced rate directly with Royal Caribbean?

Travel Agent reduced rates are currently not available. To be eligible to attend CoNexion, you must book your stateroom through our group block.

Can I book my own cabin outside of the CoNexion group and still attend the CoNexion functions?

No. Your cabin must be booked through our group in order to be registered for CoNexion.

Are there any suites available to book?

Please note: CoNexion 2018 cabins are sold out. Please contact conexion@nexion.com if you wish to be placed on the waitlist for a single or double occupancy stateroom. Suites are on a request basis. Please contact conexion@nexion.com with the type of suite you are requesting and for how many passengers. We will contact Royal Caribbean on your behalf.

Are triple and quads available?

CoNexion 2018 cabins are sold out. Please contact conexion@nexion.com if you wish to be placed on the waitlist for a single or double occupancy stateroom.

Can I request a specific cabin?

All CoNexion staterooms are on a guarantee.  You will be notified of your stateroom number just prior to CoNexion.

How many staterooms can I book?

Each stateroom must have at least one Nexion agent registered for the stateroom. The registered agent(s) must attend at least three General Sessions and the Trade Show in order to be eligible for the CoNexion stateroom rate. Failure to attend the required functions will result in a surcharge of $400 per cabin associated with that agent.

Is travel insurance included or are you offering?

Travel insurance is not being sold by Nexion® and is not included in the stateroom pricing. We do recommend that you sell yourself insurance coverage from one of our travel insurance supplier partners.

This seems too expensive.

Please keep in mind that the cost is for seven nights onboard a new cruise ship on an amazing itinerary, PLUS everything you normally expect from CoNexion. When you factor in expenses of a land-based, four-day/three-night CoNexion, the per diem per person is actually less for CoNexion 2018.

Can I bring a non-agent guest?

Yes, but only registered attendees are allowed in CoNexion functions, seminars, classes and the trade show. Registered agent(s) must attend at least three General Sessions and the Trade Show in order to be eligible for the CoNexion stateroom rate. Failure to attend the required functions will result in a surcharge of $400 per cabin associated with that agent. Please note that in order to participate in CoNexion events, your guest must be 18 years or older. All CoNexion attendees will be required to wear their designated name badge to all conference functions.

How do I become eligible to receive prizes at CoNexion?

Our supplier partners provide phenomenal prizes. To be eligible to receive, you must:

  • Be an active Nexion agent in good standing.
  • Attend the mandatory sessions, which include all of the General Sessions, the Roundtable Sessions and Workshop Rotations 3 and 5. (Note:  We know you might have a conflict, so to be fair, you will receive one (1) free pass for these mandatory sessions. This means you can have one open spot on your Prize Card and still be eligible for prizes.)

Are there discounts for guests not attending CoNexion?

No. They are benefiting from your CoNexion participation and discounted rate.

Can I do a name change once I’ve made my reservation?

Yes, name changes can be made through Aug. 1, 2018. Please email conexion@nexion.com.

Can you address special needs?

Yes, we can accommodate special needs requests based on the availability of the cruise ship. Please send special_needs@rccl.com an email.

What other expenses will I have?

The stateroom cost includes the cruise, your conference registration, port charges and government fees. Pre-paid gratuities of $94.50 per person will be due at final payment. Transportation to the port, optional shore excursions, meals while ashore, certain beverages, photographs, telephone calls, WiFi charges, specialty restaurant charges onboard, purchases from the ship stores, medical services, laundry, and spa treatments are not included in the stateroom price.

Can I contact my own Royal Caribbean BDM to request an upgrade?

No upgrades will be available for this sailing.

How do I know I have been registered?

When you register, you will receive an automated confirmation email containing your confirmation number and the details of your registration. If you do not receive a confirmation email within a few hours of registering for CoNexion, please notify us at conexion@nexion.com.

How do I view/modify my registration?

Send an email to conexion@nexion.com. Once workshops and supplier roundtables open for registration, we’ll add instructions on how to modify your registration to add your sessions.

I have forgotten my confirmation number. What should I do?

Your confirmation number is listed in your registration confirmation email. If you no longer have your confirmation number, email conexion@nexion.com.

Yes, depending on the date. For cancellations received on or before January 15, 2018, you will receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations received between January 16 – March 20, 2018 will incur a cancellation fee of $50 per person in the stateroom. Cancellations received between March 21 – May 20, 2018 will incur a cancellation fee of $100 per person in the stateroom.  Cancellations received between May 21 – July 20, 2018 will incur a cancellation fee of $200 per person in the stateroom. Cancellations made after July 20, 2018 are in 100% penalty and will not receive a refund.

Harmony of the Seas Ports and Cruising

Is there a way for me to be contacted on the ship in case of an emergency or for business calls?

Certainly! Guests have the option of being contacted on any ship for business or emergency calls. Guests can be contacted 24 hours a day via telephone for $7.95 per minute (maximum of 10 minutes per call). The call must be paid by credit card (Visa or MasterCard only).

  • Royal Caribbean International: 1-888-724-7447
    • (applicable country code)+1-321-953-9003 (outside the United States)

We no longer are able to provide the ships’ fax number.

Process

  • Dial the appropriate number above.
  • The caller will be asked to enter the credit card number and expiration date.
  • The system obtains a real-time hold for $79.50 ($7.95 x 10 minutes) and initiates the call to the ship. The $79.50 hold is the maximum that will be held. Actual charges will be calculated based on the number of minutes used on the call.
  • A voice prompt directs the caller to the specific ship.
  • The call is connected to the ship.
  • The call rings through to the designated department onboard (Radio Station or Purser Desk). The call is then routed to the guest’s stateroom.

The PBX monitors the call. If there is no answer, the call will ring back at the designated department onboard (Radio Station or Purser Desk) and a written message is taken for delivery to the guest’s stateroom.

Billing begins the moment the call rings on the ship. If shipboard personnel does not answer the phone, and the phone rings for 10 minutes, then the customer will be charged for a 10-minute phone call.

Will there be down time to visit the ports and explore the ship?

Absolutely! That’s why we chose a seven-night cruise, so you can attend CoNexion while still enjoying this amazing new ship and the ports of call.

Will we have assigned dining seating as a group? I’d like to eat with my family.

Our group has been assigned the late dining rotation in the main dining room.

Will there be assigned tables at the General Sessions?

The General Sessions will take place in the theatre so there will not be assigned tables.

Will I be able to pre-book specialty dining and shows?

Yes, further details will follow in your reservation information from Nexion.

FLIGHTS, AIRLINE, TRANSFERS AND PRE-HOTEL INFORMATION

Will there be special air promotions to/from Fort Lauderdale and Miami?

Yes there are. Please refer to the Air Discounts link.

What time should I book my flights?

According to Royal Caribbean’s website, you should plan to arrive at the Ft. Lauderdale airport no later than 1:30pm and no later than 12:30pm for Miami airport. Note: If you’re from the West Coast, we highly encourage you to come in the day before and take advantage of the pre-cruise hotel so you don’t have to worry about flight cancellations and missing the cruise.

For return flights, you should book a flight no earlier than 11:30am out of the Ft. Lauderdale airport and not earlier than 12:30pm out of the Miami airport.

What are transfer options to/from the airport to Port Everglades?

Will there be a room block near the port for the evening before the cruise?

CLASSES, SESSIONS AND SPECIAL EVENT INFORMATION

Do I have to register for workshops/special events/meal functions in order to be able to attend them?

Yes, in order to participate in any class, seminar or special event, including evening receptions, you must be registered.

When can I sign up for workshops and supplier roundtables?

Workshops and roundtables will open for registration in late summer. You will be notified via email through conexion@nexion.com with instructions. Therefore, it is extremely important that the email address you use on your registration is one that you check regularly. To view a complete list of workshops offered, view our Workshops tab!

When will I receive my agenda for workshops/events that I have registered for?

You will receive an email agenda prior to CoNexion.

I was not able to sign up for the workshops/roundtables/events that I wanted. What can I do?

You may “stand by” for a class by going to the door before the class time and letting the classroom door monitor know you would like to attend the class. If there is room available, they will let you in.

How will I know if classes are geared for my level of experience?

The workshop descriptions will include information to help distinguish the audience and who is best suited to attend. View our Workshops tab for a complete list.
